2025 Richard Emmerick Shield – round 3

Round 3 of the Richard Emmerick Shield 2025! >>> Final schedule and live results <<< Come for a day of fun and friendly Club competition! The schedule of events (all times approximate) is arranged so you can compete in multiple weapons and age divisions. U15 events are for MFC members only (your membership must be current), Senior events are open to MFC members and fencers from other clubs. Free entry for all! Age policy All competitors must be aged at least 10 years at midnight on 31 Dec 2023 (NB, with coaches' approval fencers under this age can compete, please ask one of our coaches) For U15 events, competitors must be aged under 15 years at midnight on 31 Dec 2024 For Senior events, competitors must be aged at least 13 years at midnight on 31 Dec 2024 (NB, with coaches' approval fencers under this age can compete, please ask one of our coaches) Gendered categories In this comp each age group has two gendered categories: U15 events – women and men (any entrant may enter either category, no questions asked) Senior events – women and mixed (all genders) Registration Please register by selecting a ticket for EACH event you want to compete in. Registration closes 11.59pm on Wednesday, 26 November 2025. No late entries are possible after registration closes. If you turn up on the day without having registered you won't be able to fence, but we'll be grateful for your help refereeing and generally helping to run the day. Equipment All fencers must wear 800N plastrons (MFC can lend these if needed), jacket and breeches must be 350N or above, and all equipment must be in safe condition. Fundraising tickets ($5, $10, $20) are also available – buy as many as you like! Each fundraising ticket comes with a complimentary club patch and all money raised will go towards covering the expenses associated with holding the competition (hall booking, medals etc), and to buying equipment. Helping out Setup is from 9.00am and anyone is welcome to come and lend a hand so we can commence the comp on time at 9.30am. --- For fencers from other clubs and independent fencers, please abide by MFC's membership agreement: In consideration of the acceptance of my and/or my child/ward’s membership or participation in activities with Mountains Fencing Club Inc. (the Club): I understand that although the Club makes its best efforts to minimise any risk of personal injury, accidents do happen and all physical activities carry the risk of personal injury. Try Fencing! Two workshop sessions: Saturday 4 and 11 October 2025 9.00am–12.00pm Come to one session, or come to both! Always wanted to try fencing but haven't yet given it a go? Fenced when you were younger and like to get back to it? Have friends, or kids, who fence and want to know what they're so excited about? If you answered YES to any of the above questions, then the Try Fencing Workshops at Mountains Fencing Club is for you! Get to grips with the basics of fencing in a fun and friendly environment. At the end of the program you'll have all the skills you need to start training with the Club if you want to. Anyone aged 7 and above is welcome to come to either or both sessions! All weapons and safety gear is provided. Wear clothing suitable for exercising (close fitting if possible) and sneakers.  Bring lots of water!  Entry is subject to participants abiding by the Club's code of conduct and the membership agreement below. ___ Please abide by MFC's membership agreement: In consideration of the acceptance of my and/or my child/ward’s membership or participation in activities with Mountains Fencing Club Inc. Spaceballs Movie Night Fundraiser

Come to our Movie Night Fundraiser and enjoy a night of fun and laughter featuring the movie, Spaceballs - an irreverant send-up of that other space/star movie that we all know and love. There is one price for tickets and we ask that you bring some snacks or finger food to share.  More substantial meals will also be provided and hot/cold drinks will be available to purchase.  Come in your favourite space or mashup costume, bring a comfy cushion, participate in our trivia quiz and movie bingo.  If you have a lightsaber, bring it along for our (controlled) lightsaber melee! All proceeds from the movie night will go towards paying for the hall hire for our training sessions.

Swords & Sausages Movie Night

Come and join in the Swords and Sausages Movie Night with MFC! Movie:  The cult favourite, The Princess Bride.  BYO comfiest bean bag/cushions/rug. Food:  A sausage sizzle, bake sale, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase from 5pm. Trivia Comp: Compete in our Trivia Competition as an individual or team and win a chance to throw wet sponges at Ollie!! Costume: Favourite costume of a character from the movie or medieval mashup costume. Best costume wins a prize! Tickets: $10pp and can be purchased by clicking the Get Tickets button. Children aged 5yo and under are free. Online ticket sales will close at midnight on Friday, 15 November.   All funds raised will go towards the running of the Mountains Fencing Club.

The schedule of events (all times approximate) is arranged so you can compete in multiple weapons and age divisions. U14 events are for MFC members only (your membership must be current), Senior events are open to MFC members and fencers from other clubs. Free entry for all! Age policy All competitors must be aged at least 10 years at midnight on 31 Dec 2022 (NB, with coaches' approval fencers under this age can compete, please ask one of our coaches) For U14 events, competitors must be aged under 14 years at midnight on 31 Dec 2022 For Senior events, competitors must be aged at least 13 years at midnight on 31 Dec 2022 (NB, with coaches' approval fencers under this age can compete, please ask one of our coaches) Gendered categories In this comp each age group has two gendered categories: U14 events – women and men (any entrant may enter either category, no questions asked) Senior events – women and mixed (all genders) Registration Please register by selecting a ticket for EACH event you want to compete in. Registration closes 11.59pm on Wednesday, 29 November 2023. No late entries are possible after registration closes. If you turn up on the day without having registered you won't be able to fence, but we'll be grateful for your help refereeing and generally helping to run the day. Equipment All fencers must wear 800N plastrons (MFC can lend these if needed), jacket and breeches must be 350N or above, and all equipment must be in safe condition. Fundraising tickets ($5, $10, $20) are also available – buy as many as you like! Each fundraising ticket comes with a complimentary club patch and all money raised will go towards covering the expenses associated with holding the competition (hall booking, medals etc), and to buying equipment. Helping out Setup is from 9.00am and anyone is welcome to come and lend a hand so we can commence the comp on time at 9.30am. All training and events at the Club are run as per the Club's COVIDSafe training plan. Please review this to ensure you comply with the requirements. --- For fencers from other clubs and independent fencers, please abide by MFC's membership agreement: In consideration of the acceptance of my and/or my child/ward’s membership or participation in activities with Mountains Fencing Club Inc. Welcome to Start the Day with Stabbing! Tickets are free but important as numbers as limited. The session runs from 10:30 to 12:00. All adults are welcome, no prior fencing experience necessary! All fencing equipment will be provided and activities will be tailored to the participants. Bring a water bottle, sports shoes and wear clothes you're comfortable to move in.
